We draw the line
If you are searching for Google Workspace support, we owe you the truth up front: MBPS does not manage Google Workspace. We are a Microsoft provider, we drew that line for security reasons, and if you want your business to be secure, we convert you to Microsoft 365. This page explains why, side by side.

Follow the money and the incentives explain themselves. The overwhelming majority of Google's revenue comes from advertising, a business built on knowing as much as possible about as many people as possible. Microsoft earns its keep selling software, licenses and cloud services to businesses; advertising is a rounding error on its income statement. Neither company is a charity, but only one of them profits primarily from data about you. When we choose where our clients' payroll, contracts and client files will live, that difference is not a detail. It is the whole conversation.
Then there is the fine print. Accepting Google's terms of service grants Google a license to host, reproduce and analyze your content to operate and improve its services, and on the free consumer accounts many small businesses quietly run on, that machinery is wired to the advertising engine. Most owners have never read the agreement their company's email depends on. We have, and it is why we made it policy: we do not support the platform. We move companies off it.
This table is why google workspace support requests to MBPS turn into Microsoft conversions.
| Category | Google Workspace | Microsoft 365 |
|---|---|---|
| What you are to the vendor | ✘ A data source for an advertising company | ✔ A paying customer of a software company |
| The agreement you sign | ✘ Terms grant Google a license to host, reproduce and analyze your content; free accounts feed the ad engine | ✔ Business terms: your content is not used for advertising |
| Identity and access | ✘ Advanced access policy locked behind enterprise tiers | ✔ Entra ID conditional access: user, device, location and risk |
| Device management | ✘ Basic endpoint controls; real MDM means another product | ✔ Intune included in Business Premium |
| Email threat protection | ✘ Decent filtering, little admin control when phishing gets through | ✔ Defender for Office 365: sandboxing, impersonation protection, admin control |
| Data loss prevention | ✘ Reserved for top enterprise tiers | ✔ Purview DLP and retention at small business pricing |
| Desktop reality | ✘ Browser-first; Office files arrive in translation | ✔ Native Word, Excel and Outlook, the formats your clients actually send |
| Compliance tooling | ✘ Vault held back for higher tiers | ✔ eDiscovery, litigation hold and auditing in the business stack |
| Track record | ✘ Retires products on short notice, repeatedly | ✔ Published enterprise lifecycles and support dates |
Locked accounts happen by algorithm, every day, and on the free Gmail accounts many small businesses actually run on, there is nobody to call: recovery is a web form and a wait while your business email sits hostage. Deleted really means deleted: once the retention window closes, the mailbox with seven years of contracts is gone, because Workspace is not a backup and has never claimed to be. Ransomware does not knock: one poisoned laptop syncs encrypted files through Drive to every machine sharing the folder, politely and automatically. The ex-employee nobody offboarded is still reading company mail from wherever they landed. And when the cyber insurance questionnaire asks about data loss prevention, conditional access and litigation hold, the honest Workspace answer at small business pricing is mostly no, a fact usually discovered stapled to a premium increase or a denied claim. None of these are rare. They are Tuesdays. We know because companies call us mid-disaster, and the call always opens the same way: we thought Google handled that.
A provider who manages your Workspace tenant is signing their name to a ceiling Google set. We could enforce two-step verification, audit the sharing settings and babysit the licenses, and plenty of shops happily bill for exactly that. But when the platform caps how far security can go at small business pricing, ongoing google workspace support means charging you monthly to stand under that ceiling. We would rather move the ceiling. So we drew the line: the only Workspace work MBPS performs is the work of leaving it safely, which includes stabilizing what you have during the transition so nothing is exposed while the move is planned.
It is a planned project, not a leap. First an assessment of what you actually use in Workspace: mail, calendars, Drive layout, shared files, the app connected in 2022 that nobody remembers. Then our Office 365 migration service moves everything with the old system still readable until the new one is proven, over a weekend for most small companies. From day one on the other side you get the Microsoft security stack configured properly, email security switched on, and Microsoft 365 support as the ongoing relationship. Ask for the comparison on your real numbers; the trip is shorter than it looks, and you only make it once.
